Asphalt Chip Coat SealingChip sealing is one of the lesser known types of asphalt. While most asphalts used for your typical driveway or parking lot are all pretty similar, chip sealing is pretty unique in what its made up of. Specifically there is additives inside of chip sealing that add traction. We've seen this used in a variety of different ways, from inclines to flat surfaces that are commonly wet and need more traction. The possibilities for how you can use chip sealing is endless.
One of the benefits of using chip sealing is that it can be laid over existing asphalt. This has a clear advantage of starting with a smooth and level surface. If normal asphalt is not laid, thats not a problem either as chip sealing can be put on a flat prepared ground surface as well. Chip sealing can also be done as an alternative to sealing. It can renew a surface and especially if its a high traffic area, can add quite a bit of durability to the surface.
